One man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital after losing control of his motorcycle and getting trapped under a Jeep in Hampton Bays on Tuesday.
Police said John Scifo, 57, of Lynbrook was driving his Harley Davidson on Red Creek Road in Hampton Bays when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a Jeep being driven by Tatiana Huertas, 30, of Hampton Bays.
Mr. Scifo, police said, wound up underneath the Jeep and suffered serious injuries.
A Suffolk County Police medevac landed at Red Creek Park to pick up Mr. Scifo, and transport him to Stony Brook University Hospital.
Ms. Huertas had four passengers in her 2015 Jeep, though none of them suffered any injuries from the accident.
Red Creek Road, which was closed between Hildreth Road and Flanders Road, was reopened by 1:20 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to an accident between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Red Creek Road in Hampton Bays on Tuesday morning.
The accident was reported at approximately 11:40 a.m, and a dispatcher alerted the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance that at least one person was trapped in the vehicle.
Southampton Town Police would not provide any information about the accident.
