Southampton Town Police have arrested an elderly Riverside man who they say was running a “walk-up” drug distribution business out of his house on Old Riverhead Road. John Woods, 83, was arrested by officers of the East End Drug Task Force last Friday, December 5, and charged with two felony drug possession charges. SOUTHAMPTON VILLAGE — Matthew Kopoulos, 34, of East Hampton was arrested by Village Police on December 2 and charged with petit larceny and unlawfully fleeing an officer, both misdemeanors, stemming from a September 25 incident in which police say Kopoulos stole items from the 7-Eleven on North Sea Road and then fled the scene on an e-bike. WESTHAMPTON BEACH — Mark Green, 44, of Westhampton Beach, was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police on November 21 and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. At approximately 3:13 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Rogers Avenue after observing a Mercedes-Benz operating without a front license plate. The academy offers a unique opportunity to see and experience what police officers do on a daily basis.
