The motorcyclist killed on County Road 39 after colliding with another vehicle on Wednesday morning was identified as David Jordan Sargent, 23, according to Yeison Gonzalez, who started a GoFundMe page on Friday.
Mr. Gonzalez described Mr. Sargent on the donation website as "sweet, funny, quirky, and loving."
"He had a heart for those who were broken and lost in this world," he wrote.
His girlfriend, Alondra Solano, confirmed on Friday that Mr. Sargent was planning to propose to her on Thursday, October 11—the day after the crash.
"But he never made it to his date with his loved one," the website read.
In three hours, the GoFundMe had raised $95 of a $20,000 goal, which will go toward funeral expenses.
Police have not confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist killed in the accident and have not returned multiple requests for comment.

Southampton Fire Department Treasurer Donald King said that the previously-closed section of County Road 39 has been reopened for traffic.

A portion of County Road 39 in Southampton was closed Wednesday morning following an accident. Southampton Fire Department Treasurer Donald King said Wednesday morning that all lanes were closed from Tuckahoe Road to Sandy Hollow Road, with fire police rerouting traffic. Mr. King said the fire department was called to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. and that two fire police units and one small fire engine were on the scene, but the small fire engine was merely used to transport more officers to the scene.
