UPDATE: Monday, 8:30 a.m. State Police have identified the person who died in the RV accident as Richard Santos, 66, of East Moriches. He was pronounced dead at the scene.... more

For the second time this year, Southampton Town officials had to deal with a police officer who had been arrested and charged with DWI. In both cases, the officers were off duty and involved in car accidents. During the May 24 meeting of the Southampton Town Board, members voted to suspend Theodore Jasinski without pay pending the disposition of disciplinary charges.
