UPDATE: 8:45 p.m.
State Troopers said Sunrise Highway has been cleared and reopened after a truck hauling a dumpster caught fire Friday afternoon and blocked both eastbound lanes for more than four hours.

The eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway are still closed between the Eastport and Westhampton exits, west of Route 111 in Eastport
UPDATE: 5 p.m.
The Eastport and Westhampton Beach fire departments are still working to clear the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway following a garbage truck fire earlier in the afternoon, west of exit 63.
State Police, who responded to the scene, said that once the firefighters clear the area, crews with the State Department of Transportation need to remove remaining debris before the lanes can be reopened. Eastbound vehicles are still being diverted from the highway at the Westhampton exit.
The lane closure is expected to last at least another hour.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Both eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway was closed between exits 62 and 63 in Westhampton on Friday afternoon, due to a garbage truck that caught fire.
According to New York State Police, the truck caught fire shortly after 2 p.m. Area fire departments also responded to the scene.
Police did not have information on any injuries.
Eastbound traffic was being rerouted at County Road 31.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
