An East Quogue man was arrested on multiple charges on Wednesday, June 16, at 6:19 p.m., after East Hampton Town Police said they connected him to a series of thefts on Long Lane in East Hampton, as well as the theft of a vehicle out of Riverhead. Following his arrest in East Hampton, he was charged by Southampton Town Police this week for another alleged crime. Weeks before a deadline imposed by a federal judge, an agreement has been reached between the prosecution and defense on just how much money a Sag Harbor resident defrauded her former employer out of and what the appropriate sentencing range is. Stephanie Bitis, a former general manager of Long Island Radio Broadcasting in Water Mill, pleaded guilty in November 2020 to access device fraud for using a company credit card to rack up personal charges. An arson and vandalism at the home of a member of the Epley family in Southampton Village has the victim suspecting political underpinnings. According to the report filed by Southampton Village Police at around 8:15 on the morning of May 12, Brittney Epley was getting her children ready for school when she smelled smoke. Walking out onto the covered front porch of the family’s Prospect Avenue home, Ms. Epley found smoke coming from a flower pot.
