William Welsh, 63, of Saint James was speeding in a blue BMW on Mill Road on the evening of September 12, Westhampton Beach Village Police said, when he was pulled over for driving 46 mph in a 30-mph zone. Police report that Welsh admitted to drinking the two cans of Mike’s Harder Lemonade they observed in his passenger seat, and following standard field-sobriety tests, determined he was intoxicated. Welsh was charged with misdemeanor DWI and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center due to other health issues he brought to officers’ attention.
