The Southampton Town Youth Bureau has a full slate of activities planned for the coming months:
The annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is set for Friday, March 31, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Southampton Youth Services (SYS), 1370A Majors Path in Southampton. Sign-in and warm up drills will be held from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Tournament is open to grades five through 12. Preregistration of $30 is required by Monday, March 27.
Applications for its Recipes for Adventure Summer Program at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road in Flanders, are now being accepted. Learn the basics of food prep, cooking and baking while having a fun summer filled with outdoor activities, games, field trips, and more. The six-week program runs from July 10 to August 17, Monday through Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Those going into grades five through eight are eligible to participate.
The spring break schedule at the Flanders Youth Center is a science activity on Wednesday, April 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for those in kindergarten through grade four; Recreation Night on Thursday, April 13, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., for those in grades five through eight; and a wildlife program on Friday, April 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Submissions for their Creative Arts Contest are now being accepted for this year’s theme is “Hope & Recovery.” Accepted art submissions include photography, graphic art, sculpture, and freehand. The contest is open to those ages 10 to 25 and participants must reside or attend school within the Town of Southampton. Artwork will be judged on quality, creativity, and presentation based on the artist’s interpretation of “Hope & Recovery.”
