Despite not making long playoff runs, both the Southampton boys and girls soccer teams had players that earned All-State honors this fall.

Andy Panza helped lead the Southampton boys soccer team as a captain this season and held a unique role on the team as both a starting goal keeper but also a pivotal field player. To that end, Panza had four shutouts in goal for the Mariners and also scored six goals, tied for third best on the team. It was for that reason that Panza was named Fourth Team All-State and leads what was a pretty long list of postseason award honorees for the boys soccer team.

Mason Stevens was one of five players across all of Suffolk County given the Suffolk County Soccer Coaches Association’s Captain Alex Fyfe Courage Award and he was named All-League. Nicholas Gonzalez was named All-Conference, Danny Bustamante and Erick Campohermoso were named All-League and Riley Herrmann earned Academic All-County honors.

The Southampton girls soccer team finished this season 5-10-1 overall, but Juliette Archer was named Fifth Team All-State after scoring eight goals and finishing with 10 assists. She finished her career with 18 goals and 17 assists, and is just the second girl in program history to have been named All-State, joining Carli Cameron who earned the honor just last season. Archer was also named All-League along with her younger sister, Vivienne Archer, and Emily Zukosky.

The Southampton field hockey team had some key award winners at its award banquet on January 10. Carlie Kreymborg was named Division II Rookie of the Year, a nominated award given to one player in their respective division voted on by all of the head coaches. Southampton head coach Jackie Trelease said she could not remember the last time Southampton had one of its players named Rookie of the Year. Kreymborg was also given the Mariners’ Unsung Hero Award. Daelyn Palmore, Katie Terry and Jackie Thulin were named All-Division.

The Southampton boys golf team won the League VII title this fall. Liam Blackmore and Jack Browne earned All-County and All-League honors while Brian Emmons and Ronan Brady earned All-League honors.

Tanner Morro and Jeorgiana Gavalas represented both Southampton boys and girls cross country teams at the New York State Championships this fall. Marro was an All-Division and All-League runner, while teammates Evan Simioni and Jacob Warden were All-League. Gavalas was All-League.

Paige Garvin and Raven Reddick, both captains of the Southampton girls volleyball team, each earned All-League honors.
