Stanislaw Kiegiel

Stanislaw Kiegiel, a resident of Hampton Bays for 53 years, died on Friday, December 26. He was 79.

Mr. Kiegiel was born in Poland on October 8, 1929, to Jacob and Florence Kiegiel.

He married his wife, Christina, on February 11, 1955, in Riverhead. He worked as a mechanic at Riverhead Motors in Riverhead for 35 years.

In addition to his wife, Christina Kiegiel, he is survived by two sons, Christopher and Richard Kiegiel; a daughter, Maria Socko; and five grandchildren.

A wake was held at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead on December 29. A funeral service was held at St. Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead on December 30, and interment followed at St. Isidore’s Cemetery in Riverhead.

Nod to the Past

In deciding to run for reelection as village trustee, I have thought a great deal about what I, as a trustee, have done and can continue to do to preserve and nurture the qualities that make Southampton Village such a special place to live. Refuse Surprises

The Noyac Civic Council once again is proud to have many volunteers join in the Great East End Clean-Up. This year, we had a few different surprises as we picked up the usual trash along Noyac Road. New Jersey Man Arrested After Woman Claims He Set Up a Spy Camera in Bathroom

A New Jersey man was arrested by Southampton Town Police over the weekend and charged with unlawful surveillance after a woman told police she suspected that he had used a remote camera to watch her in the bathroom. The woman, who police have not identified other than to say she is from Indiana, called police on May 3 and reported that she was staying at an Airbnb house in Water Mill for the weekend with several co-workers.
