Stanley W. Tomasheski of Hampton Bays died on August 8 at Southampton Hospital. He was 67.
Born on March 8, 1948, to Stanley V. Tomasheski and Lois (Goodman) Tomasheski, he served in the U.S. Marines, earning the rank of sergeant, during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Suffolk County Parks Department after 40 years. He was a member of the Hampton Bays Fire Department Benevolent Association and was a former member of the Hampton Bays Fire Department, where he served as a lieutenant. He was also a member of the Southampton Elks Lodge.
Mr. Tomasheski is survived by his wife, Valerie J. (Chism) Tomasheski of Hampton Bays; a sister, Sue Loetscher of Hampton Bays; a brother, Tony Tomasheski of Texas; and nieces, Kayli Tomasheski, Christine Lamia and husband Art, and Casey Loetscher Ryckman and husband Mark. He is also survived by grand-nieces, Cassie and Ava; and a grand-nephew, Mark; as well as many relatives and friends.
The Hampton Bays Fire Department conducted a service at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on August 10. A funeral service was held on August 11 at the funeral home with Deacon Chris Ervin from the Church of St. Rosalie officiating. The U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard made a flag presentation to the family before the service.
