New York State Police said this week that they had dropped charges filed against an East Quogue woman after originally stating that she served alcohol to an underage police informant at the Hampton Bays bar she works at earlier this month. The original press release issued by State Police stated that Avril Robinson-Fox, 22, a bartender at The Station Bar on Shinnecock Road in Hampton Bays, was arrested after authorities said she served alcohol to an underage police informant as part of a sting on Friday, September 9, that also targeted three other area businesses. But following further investigation that included the review of surveillance footage from the establishment, State Police said they dropped both charges filed against Ms. Robinson-Fox when their subsequent investigation revealed that she was not responsible for serving alcohol to the agent. She was originally charged with second-degree unlawful dealing with a child, a misdemeanor, and prohibited sale of an alcohol beverage, a violation.Police declined to comment further on the situation.
