Stella (Stephanie) Wienclawski
Stella (Stephanie) Wienclawski, formerly of Water Mill, died at her Glenwood Village home in Riverhead on Monday, March 28. She was 97.
Ms. Wienclawski was the accountant for her husband Anthony’s landscaping business. The couple had a beautiful yard in which she loved to take care of the flowers and she was very knowledgeable about every plant.
Ms. Wienclawski loved cooking and tried to save every recipe she came across. She also enjoyed reading biographies, medical books, spiritual books and anything she could get her hands on, the family said.
When people met her she was friendly and always eager to make conversation. She was a good Christian woman who was soft-spoken, gentle and had a very good heart, family said.
She is survived by siblings, Felix Pierzchanowski of Riverhead, Anna Aleksander of Peconic and Terry Chabot of Riverhead. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony; siblings, Mike and John Pierzchanowski, Harriet Lucas, Stella Kanuck, and Florence Drobny.
Visitation took place Wednesday, March 30, at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass officiated by Father Robert Kuznik was held Thursday, March 31, at St. Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead. Father Stanley Kondeja of Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church delivered the prayers. Interment followed at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton.
