Stephanie Damiecki Pfeiffer of Bridgehampton died August 7, 2018, at her winter home in Hudson, Florida. She was 95.
Born on September 20, 1922, in Bridgehampton to Helen and Marcel Damiecki, she had four sisters, Sophia Kosinski, Jay Skretch, Lois Beck, Marcella Gintowt, the first three predeceased her. She had two brothers, Edward Damiecki and John Damiecki, who also predeceased her. She is survived by one sister, Marcella Gintowt, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Pfeiffer is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ann Turner and Joyce Elizabeth Pfeiffer Swaim of Weeki Wachee, Florida; a son-in-law, Clifford Turner; four grandchildren, William Dobson (Marianela Viana-Diaz Dobson), Stephanie Danielle Sorensen (Lynn Sorensen) Amber Helene Swaim, and Hope Christiana Swaim; many nieces and nephews; and one great-grandchild, Jayden Andrew Zabala.
Mrs. Pfeiffer was a Eucharistic minister at Ascension Church in New Jersey for many years. In addition, she assisted her husband, William Pfeiffer, with public relations in his employment with United Water Resources. In her youth, during World War II, she was a manager of production for Bulova Watch Company. Later in life, she worked for two decades as a department manager of a large retail store.
She was a dedicated volunteer for Girl Scouts of America. She was also very active in the Parents Guild of Immaculate Heart Academy, Washington Township, New Jersey, where her daughters attended. Hostessing and entertaining groups was her forte. Good food and lots of laughter were always on the menu, survivors said.
Visitation took place Thursday, August 16, at Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held the morning of Friday, August 17, at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Bridgehampton. Burial was at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A luncheon followed at La Parmigiana in Southampton.
