Steven James Pryzby of Southampton died on August 3. He was 60.
Born on October 28, 1955, in Uniondale to Eleanor and Thomas Przybylski, Mr. Pryzby was affectionately known to many as “Big Steve” and “Pryz.” An avid sports enthusiast, he loved skiing, boating and golfing and spent many days of his life traveling with loved ones to enjoy these passions.
A 1973 graduate of Uniondale High School and a 1978 graduate of Hobart College where he was an All American lacrosse player, he was a successful pharmaceutical salesperson in the Northeastern region before relocating and joining the Farrell Building Company in 2000 where he dedicated his corporate talent and time.
Survivors said Mr. Pryzby was an exuberant personality, a devoted son, father, father-in-law, uncle, friend, consummate professional and respected colleague.
He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Przybylski; two sons, Steven and wife Kacey, and Matthew Pryzby; three brothers, Tommy Przybylski, Robert Przybylski and wife Maria, and Paul Przybylski and partner Joan Ferraro; and longtime girlfriend, Joanne Shumski. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Przybylski; and a nephew, Justin Przybylski.
A funeral service was held August 6 at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Arrangements were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. Entombment was at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.
