Stop Name-Calling

As we get closer to what now is clearly going to be Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden, can we actually talk about the issues at hand instead of name-calling? It has become apparent that the opinion writers will continue to call President Trump Adolf Hitler, dictator, autocrat, Putin’s puppet, orange man, etc.

The reality is, if Donald Trump gets elected, he will simply be the president of the United States of America.

Now, that might make people angry, but that’s simply what he will be. Not the names people like to call him to disparage his character.

There’s plenty to dislike about the man, but instead of calling him names, let me suggest: Instead, use this opportunity to tell us what policies you dislike. We need facts based on adult, logical arguments rather than telling the same old untruths.

The reality is, President Joe Biden has failed to lead this nation. His immigration policy has been an unmitigated disaster. His foreign policy has lead to two wars, with a third right around the corner, with Taiwan and China.

What is also evident is that his cognitive abilities are also failing, and America needs a leader that, at the very least, knows what day it is and what he had for breakfast.

It’s certainly not my preference for the two candidates, but I’m just one vote, and others didn’t see it as I did.

The contrasts between the two candidates are really about competence and incompetence. Trump has many faults, but he gets the job done and is extremely capable of doing the job. Unfortunately, Biden has shown that he’s not up to the task and has completely and miserably failed.

One certainly doesn’t want their president to fail, but the truth is, nothing is better under Biden compared to the accomplishments of Trump.

Biden failed when he reversed all of Trump’s executive orders, not just on the border but also regarding energy, the economy, inflation, and the soft-on-crime positions that Biden and the Democratic Party have adopted. All he had to do to be a successful president was to stay the course, put competent people in charge, and navigate the storms with determination without committing to a social agenda that was so far left that it went beyond the norms of just plain common sense. But that didn’t happen.

I understand that politics are dirty, but at least stop the name-calling and discuss policy not politics.

We are in for one crazy political scenario. It’s my hope that, despite our differences, we don’t lose sight of who we are as a nation. We have plenty of enemies, but we should not be enemies of each other.
