Stretch Of Flanders Road Reopened Morning After Crash That Pulled Down Wires; Driver Charged With DWI

Part of Flanders Road in Flanders was closed last Wednesday night, December 26, after Southampton Town Police said an intoxicated driver crashed into a utility pole, ripping down live wires. The stretch of road, between Evergreen Road and Wood Road Trail, was closed overnight before being reopened the following morning.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH — Dario Vasquez, 26, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police on December 9 and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, a misdemeanor. At 1:09 a.m., Police said they observed a blue Chevrolet Silverado traveling west on Mill Road in an unsafe manner by failing to maintain its designated lane.
