Huge numbers of cownose stingrays have invaded local waters in the last couple of weeks. The big rays are a good fight but a nuisance to fishermen, mostly. They are supposed to be very good eating, however.
Finding a few keeper black sea bass, like this one Jake Calloway caught last week, is a key to filling the cooler off Shinnecock these days since the number of keeper fluke has faded considerably.
