VFW Post 5350, Westhampton Beach, is holding its 2021 golf outing on Monday, August 30, at the Vineyards Golf Club in Riverhead, a great links-style course.
Golfers may register online at perfectgolfevent.com, and there is a discount if registered on or before July 31. Those wanting to sponsor, donate or purchase a hole sign can visit our new website, vfw5350.org, or call the post at 631-653-9898. Registration, donation and/or hole sign checks may be mailed to VFW Post 5350, 101 Old Riverhead Road, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978. Brochure info may also be seen at Lynne’s Cards and Gifts store on Main Street. We will try to have veterans visit businesses that have purchased hole signs in the past.
Proceeds are used to offer scholarships for both Hampton Bays and Westhampton Beach students, to help needy veterans and their families, to help 911 families, and to support our rather old post.
Thank you very much for your support.

As a 30-year litigation-scarred veteran of the sand mining/composting wars waged in Southampton Village and Town, I am a proponent of the amortization of sand mines proposed by the town. In our battles, we were up against the “pre-existing use”...

The editorial dunce cap for “creeping authoritarianism” [“Gold Stars and Dunce Caps,” Editorial, July 3] awarded to the president for his anger at the deliberate leak of a premature intelligence assessment by an individual acting solely out of malice in...
