Tom Connor, surfer, board shaper and artist, died on June 7 at Southampton Hospital after a short illness; his family was at his side. He was 71.
Mr. Connor was an East End artist for his entire adult life, opened the first surf shop on the East End in 1967 in Bridgehampton and was a renowned “board shaper.”
He is survived by a sister, JoAnn; and two brothers, Kevin and James.
The funeral service was private. A memorial service will be held at Parrish Memorial Hall at Southampton Hospital on Sunday, June 26, at 9 a.m. with a surfers’ paddle out to follow at Flying Point Beach.
