Susanne Luise Lenz
Susanne Luise Lenz of Southampton died at her family’s home in Southington, Connecticut, on Thursday, December 6, after a long illness.
Born in Mineola on November 10, 1943, to John and Erna Lenz, she graduated from Bethpage High School in 1961 and the Suffolk School of Nursing, as a registered nurse, in 1964. Nursing was her passion and she had a wonderful decades-long career as a professional nurse, primarily in corporate and public health.
Survivors said she was loved by many and her friends were more than friends to her, they were family. She relished outings with the girls, gardening, fine dining, kayaking, a good book, baking, shopping, spending quiet times with friends and family and thoughtful introspective conversations. She was an elegant and gracious lady through and through.
Ms. Lenz is survived by a brother Henry Lenz and wife Emmi of Florida; a nephew Fred Lenz and wife Elizabeth and their two children, of Southington; two nieces, Janine Perry and husband Scott and their two children of Florida, and Vanessa Keegan and husband Tim and their daughter of Florida.
A private memorial service is being arranged for a date to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Connecticut, www.vnahealthcare.org.
