Sy Robin, formerly of Westhampton Beach, died on February 19 in Wilton Manors, Florida. He was 90.

He was born in the Bronx, served in the military, and graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology majoring in millinery. He spent more than 25 years in Texas as a millinery buyer for Neiman Marcus and Joske’s, and then opened his own store.

He returned to New York City in 1977, the year he met his partner of 43 years, Chuck Roeder.

Mr. Robin gave up millinery, except for the shows in which Mr. Roeder was the costume designer. He opened his own button and jewelry business with his jewelry in all 44 Saks Fifth Avenue stores, plus other stores across the country.

He was especially proud of his custom-designed tiaras and the various pins he created for the Family Counseling Service and East End Hospice galas. He was also a bartender at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

In 2006, Mr. Robin and Mr. Roeder moved to Florida, where life is slow, Mr. Roeder noted. Mr. Robin kept busy with various jewelry projects and making hats for the shows for which Mr. Roeder was the costume designer.

And now, according to Mr. Roeder, Mr. Robin is “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” where a heavenly host of angels is singing “Hello, Sy. You’re looking great, Sy, and it’s so nice to have you here where you belong!”

He is survived by his partner of 43 years, Chuck Roeder.
