The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation will be the beneficiary of a “Tail-Gating” party at Uber Geek Brewery in Riverhead on Saturday, February 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. The brewery is located at 400 Hallett Avenue.
The event is intended to showcase adoptable pets as a buildup to the Super Bowl the next day.
Expect opportunities to take pet photos, a “puppy bowl” play yard, football-based chance games, raffles, snacks for people and pets, a pop-up shop from Spoiled Bitch Boutique, a food truck, adoptable dogs and beer. The Synergy Brew Project is taking over the taps at Uber Geek for the entire weekend, featuring five beers and a hard seltzer on tap. Included will be “Best Friend’s Blonde Ale” a beer crafted with and specifically for the SASF.
Gary Rosen, the owner of Synergy Brew Project, and his wife, Mariah, have adopted a pet, a three-legged mix named Penguin. “She has completely changed my life,” he said of the dog. “The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation has a special place in my heart for matching me with my baby Penguin, my first dog ever, and changing my mind and heart about pets forever. They are an amazing organization, offering shelter, medical care, training and of course placement of all pets, including special needs animals like Penguin, into loving forever homes. I am forever indebted to them and want to do something to give back. The SASF runs solely on donation and need every dime possible to continue their mission.”
“Our supporter, the Spoiled Bitch Dog Boutique, and a couple of our dogs even got to ‘help’ brew the beer. People like Gary are who motivate us to keep doing what we do every day”, said Ashley Bloom, SASF Shelter Coordinator. “We hope our community will show up en force on Saturday, February 8, to support our mission and the Synergy Brew Project.”
