Telling the Truth?

Upon reading this week’s Press, and particularly Karl Grossman’s column “A Web of Lies” [Suffolk Closeup, Opinion, December 7], and just simply reflecting on the past four to five years and beyond, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only whose question is: “So, who’s telling the truth?” And I add: “Whom should we believe?”

On a positive note, if any regarding the “lies vs. truth, truth vs. lies” compounded with other officials’ dilemmas — the Sag Harbor article “Sag Harbor Village Board Will Seek To Terminate Police Chief, Files Disciplinary Charges” [27east.com, December 1], could we be hopeful that perhaps the revealing or exposure could make one hesitate to continue on the path of lies and injustice? Or will it just be a warning to be just a little bit more careful to cover their “stuff”?

This widespread opening of the Pandora’s box of lies has some beneficiaries turning their heads and looking the other way, saying, “It wasn’t me!”
