Thaddeus 'Ted' Brandt III Dies May 7

Thaddeus T. Brandt of East Moriches died on May 7. He was 57.

Born May 17, 1958, to Ted and Betty Brandt, he grew up in Riverhead, worked in Southampton, Westhampton and Speonk areas, and managed West Cove Farms, the Kanas family estate, until the time of his death. He served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1981 on the USS America. In 1981, he married Jill Wilczewski.

In addition to his wife, Jill, he is survived by a son, Thaddeus Thomas IV and wife Cherie; granddaughters, Aubrey, Emmee, and Ellee; a daughter, Kristin; his mother, Betty; and siblings, Linda Galka and husband Richie, Michael, Jim and wife Tracy, and Patti.

Visitation was on Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, at Sinnickson’s Moriches Funeral Home in Center Moriches. A sailor’s burial at sea will take place at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, lustgarten.org; or Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park, Box 57, East Moriches, NY 11940.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
