I’m starting to feel sorry for Donald Trump. He’s just an old man who will never admit being wrong; it’s in his DNA. That’s a problem for people, especially politicians.
The danger is that if he wins at his age, one mistake could end the world. I’m not kidding.
So, we have two dilemmas: What will happen if Trump wins? Or what if he loses without accepting defeat?
Over the next two months, we have to be honest with his followers. Not just Democrat against Republican. We need the Republicans to wake up and become the party they used to be, pre-Trump. I don’t know what he says to his fellow Republicans behind closed doors, but it’s like he puts a spell on them. For the most part, all good women and men, yet they come out of those meetings 180 degrees changed. You watch them all on YouTube and see what they said and then what they say now.
Democracy is when two parties create the rules by which we live and change those rules only to reflect the changing times. As a candidate and ex-president, Trump has a responsibility, the same responsibility that Joe Biden demonstrated. That is to leave our country better when this is over and support the new administration.
Trump’s campaign is based on all of our country’s negatives. You can paint that picture of America or remind us of the land of freedom we’ve always been.
Donald, this is to you. If you lose this election, don’t hurt the country. The history books will remember, and so will I.
