A current subject in reporting from the right has been the reaction to the book by CNN’s Jake Tapper, called “Original Sin.” It delivers revelations about the incapacity of the 46th president, Joe Biden.

This was no secret to anyone with an ounce of objectivity. From the 2020 presidential campaign on, candidate Biden was allowed to hide in plain sight his mental and physical frailties from the American people. This was aided and abetted by the liberal media. As is only now being exposed.

But after the election, Joe Biden was displaying evidence of decay all of us could see: the infirmity as he boarded Air Force 1; his inability to depart from a stage; rambling speeches that led to dead-ends and awkward pauses; misidentifying friends and family members. These incidents, though obvious to all who saw them, were somehow invisible to the legacy news media serving their Democrat audience.

On CNN, Jake Tapper, while interviewing Lara Trump in 2020, harshly rebuked her provocative comments on the obvious decline in President Biden. Tapper, out of hand, dismissed Ms. Trump’s observations as unconfirmed and malicious.

Mr. Tapper has now acknowledged his error while trying to salvage some credibility to preserve his book sales. Indeed, nowadays, the media giants on the left are all trying to explain away their complicity in ignoring the elephant in the room, the failing health of the sitting American president.

My question is: Didn’t the danger of a diminished president pose serious danger to all of us? Why didn’t our liberal press want to find out? Answer: They preferred to sell newspapers and attract eyeballs attacking their favorite subject, Donald Trump.

But it was more than this. It is clear that The Times, Washington Post, NBC, CBS and ABC all chose to protect the Biden presidency even if it meant we were being led by an incoherent old man. I say, shame on them, and shame on those who preferred to hate Trump while daily endorsing the lie that Joe Biden was fit to lead the free world.

Consequently, how or why would any reasonable person trust these discredited news sources for anything but the weather? We all should be deeply disturbed by the fiction and deception they were responsible for. Were Democrat handlers in the White House secretly running our Executive Branch while Joe took his nap? This story may yet be revealed. Open borders, the Afghanistan debacle, egregious deficits, climate boondoggles and a military unable to secure enough manpower all point to a feeble presidency.

Democrats love to accuse Trump of being the ultimate threat to democracy, yet the de facto Biden puppet presidency, in reality, was the far more existential threat.
