What’s ironic is the current effort by blue states and cities trying to de-fund their police departments’ budgets — for example, New York City — but, at the same time, their Democrat leadership wants to overturn the Second Amendment, which is our right to bear arms.
Sadly, what’s happening is a public that is losing confidence in the ability of the police to protect them and their families! Confirmation of this fear and frustration is the current rush to buy guns. According to The Wall Street Journal, the latest gun sales figures from July shows an increase of 122 percent, or 1.8 million, over July 2019. The 12,141,032 total gun sales for the year through July is just shy of the 13,199,172 in total sales for all of 2019. Forty percent are first-time female buyers.
Democrats can’t have it both ways; however, in my opinion, de-funding police budgets is unquestionably the wrong choice!
