I called Chris Halter, the director of the reservation, recently and asked what was the most important of their needs. Are you ready for this? Blankets! Forty percent of the 240,000 inhabitants have no running water, 30 percent have no electricity or central heat, and only one hospital! The pandemic rate is one of the highest in the country.
