Thomas John Goleski
Thomas John Goleski, known as “T-Bone,” a longtime resident of Southampton, died at his winter home in Stuart, Florida, on January 8. He was 87.
Born on November 25, 1925, in Southampton to Josephine and Eugene Goleski, he was a graduate of Southampton High School and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps 100th Bomb Group. He was a congregant at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton and St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jenson Beach, Florida.
Mr. Goleski was active for 34 years in the Southampton Fire Department and then volunteered with its antique truck division. He was a member of the Southampton Horticulture Society and the American Polish Political Association, among many other volunteer organizations. According to survivors, he was well-respected by his peers.
Mr. Goleski is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Goleski; three children, Thomas Goleski, Kimberly Rosko and husband Bill, and Gary Goleski and wife Karin; and five grandchildren, Billy Rosko and wife Rebekah, Colleen Rosko, Holly and Jamie Goleski, and Eric and Emily Goleski.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. The Southampton Fire Department will hold firematic services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampon. Interment will follow with military honors at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
