Thomas John Sullivan of Scottsdale, Arizona, and formerly of Westhampton Beach, died on Monday, July 14. He was 54. According to local media reports in Arizona, Mr. Sullivan killed himself after police came to his home to question him in connection with a missing person investigation.
Mr. Sullivan was born on September 10, 1953, in Westhampton Beach. In 1972 he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where he attended Chaminade University and later worked for the Bank of Hawaii.
In 1988 he relocated with his family to Lihue, Kauai, where he worked as a chief financial officer for Aloha Lumber, and independently as a commercial real estate appraiser. In 1998, he moved with his family to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he resided until his death.
Mr. Sullivan was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed grilling on Sunday nights. According to loved ones, he was a fun-loving man and an adoring father who will be remembered for his generosity.
He is survived by a daughter, Erin Lipman and her husband Rod Lipman; a sister, Diane Mullen; four brothers, Allan and his wife Joan, Wickie, Larry and his wife Jean, and Gregory and his wife Kathleen; and his ex-wife, Leatrice Sullivan.
Funeral arrangements were private and held under the direction of the Desert Hills Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona.
