Thomas Paul Stubelek of Southampton died on April 7 in his home. He was 77.

He was born in Southampton on January 20, 1949, to Marilyn McLeod Stubelek and Walter Henry Stubelek.

He graduated from Southampton High School and began working as a milkman for Sherry’s Dairy and later for Schwenk’s Dairy.

He loved the outdoors and ultimately became a gardener and caretaker. He took pride in caring for his roses and the estates where he worked all of his life.

When not working, he enjoyed spending time at the ocean or watching the Yankees. He enjoyed his friends and always was ready to lend a helping hand. He was a quiet, gentle soul who will be missed by everyone who knew him, his family said.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his brother, Timothy; his sister, Susan; his son Michael of Southampton and his family, Cassie, and his son, Ryan; his niece, Nikki; and two nephews, Christopher and Tyson.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, from 1-4 p.m., at O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton. A Prayer service will take place on Monday, April 14, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
