Bill Tillotson was officially elected mayor of Sagaponack Village on Friday, June 17.
Tillotson, who served one term as mayor when the village was first incorporated in 2005 before Donald Louchheim served in the post from 2008 to 2022, ran unopposed and picked up a total of 46 votes, 43 of which were from absentee ballots.
Incumbent trustees Marilyn Clark and Lisa Duryea Thayer ran for reelection unopposed and also picked up 46 votes each, 43 on absentee ballots.
All three will serve two-year terms in their posts.
Tillotson turned the mayorship over to Louchheim after his first term ended in 2008, and Louchheim served in that post until earlier this month, when he announced he would not seek reelection and instead retire from service. Louchheim had served on the Sagaponack Village Board since its creation, first as a trustee with Tillotson, and then as mayor.
