To Help Us Heal

“Of the people, for the people …” Those words were part of a speech given by our great president Abraham Lincoln. The Gettysburg Address was given to unify a fractured country, fractured by civil war and death.

Again, our country needs someone to unify us, to help our country heal. That person is Perry Gershon.

Perry has been listening to our community in the 1st Congressional District for the past two years, through town halls and editorial responses, when our current congressperson was not hearing our pleas.

Fred Guttenberg, who lost his 14-year-old daughter, Jamie, who was gunned down in that tragic event in Parkland, Florida, came to Patchogue and spoke to a crowd of more than 200 people, at Temple Beth El, to support Perry and his stand on smart gun control.

Perry has held 10 town hall meetings throughout the district to hear our concerns. When COVID-19 sheltered us in place, Perry turned to technology and had virtual town halls with scientific and medical specialists as guest speakers who calmed our worst fears and answered our concerns.

Perry has spoken up when he sees something that is not just or not right, he brings his supporters of scientists and medical professionals to help us in District 1 understand and to answer our questions. Perry has joined the rallies for smart gun control, protecting students, and he has been present most recently in the rallies for equality not brutality.

Please join me in supporting Perry Gershon for Congress. Vote in the June 23 primary for Perry Gershon for Congress.
