The Center for Compassionate Leadership will offer a customized Compassionate Leadership Certification Training program to be held this spring for South Fork-based nonprofit organizations.
The program is based on the center’s signature Compassionate Leadership Training, which has graduated over 500 leaders from 45 countries since its inception in 2020. The program is being made available at no cost to participating nonprofits thanks to a grant from the Reba Judith Sandler Foundation.
Nonprofit organizations located in the towns of East Hampton and Southampton and that operate with paid staff are eligible to apply to send up to two team members to the program. The training is limited to 30 participants. Organizations that would like to send more than two individuals can place additional staff on a waiting list.
The certification program, specially structured for nonprofit leaders on the East End, will consist of six sessions: two in-person retreats of three hours each, and four online sessions of 1.5 hours each. The sessions will be held on six Tuesdays from March 19 to May 7.
Research is clear that organizations with more compassionate cultures are more productive and have more engaged and creative employees. Participants in this program will learn how to bring compassion into their organizations to support the well-being of staff and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
Among the topics to be covered are how to have difficult conversations, and how to create a culture of belonging for all, as well as the ways that East End nonprofits can create an environment of cooperation and mutual support for each other.
Individuals interested in participating may find more information including how to apply, session times and an outline of the curriculum at cfcl.org, or email cfclprograms@gmail.com.
