Trash or Treasure

I have been to third world countries, and I have seen shanty towns. I am reminded of them when I look at the Hampton Bays Diner, Bel-Aire Cove Motel, 7 Zs Swimming Pool, Getty on the Circle, and the house on Red Creek Road and West Landing.

With $2 billion in the Community Preservation Fund, why doesn’t the town clean up these properties? Why must we, the taxpayers, have to look at this blight every day?

Why did the town put a fence around the Bel-Aire Cove Motel instead of knocking it down? Is it a national treasure or an eyesore? The fence probably cost almost as much as demolition.

Our supervisor and Town Council can do a better job. Why don’t they?
