The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning for long Island as Tropical Storm Fay makes its way up the Eastern coastline.
The storm could bring heavy rain and tropical-force winds to the East End Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.
A flash flood watch was also issued for parts of the East End, with two to four inches of rain expected.
The exact track of the storm has yet to be determined.
Sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph can be expected, with gusts to 50 mph possible, according to the weather service, Friday afternoon and evening.
