I have been honored to have followed Sundy Schermeyer’s career since her days as the assistant superintendent of the Southampton Town Parks and Recreation Department in the early 2000s.
Since first being elected Southampton Town clerk, Sundy has proven herself to be bipartisan, professional and incredibly efficient in operating the clerk’s office. She has worked with both Republican and Democrat administrations, respectfully operating the same way regardless of which party was in power at the time. Her office, and her staff, work hard each and every day to accommodate the town’s residents with their requests for information and assistance in a courteous, timely and efficient manner.
Over the years, Sundy’s office has won numerous awards and accolades from various entities, including the State of New York, for the ground-breaking initiatives she has adopted in the clerk’s office. The office has received numerous grants to facilitate new programs and procedures, saving the taxpayers money. Other town clerks throughout Long Island have looked to her for guidance and recommendations. She has served as president of the Nassau-Suffolk County Town Clerks Association.
As a former Southampton Town deputy supervisor, I know firsthand how important the town clerk’s office is, and the amount of work it is required by statute and regulation to do. Sundy has performed those tasks efficiently and professionally and deserves your vote to be reelected.
I urge you to vote to reelect Sundy Schermeyer Southampton Town clerk. Reminder: Early voting begins on Saturday, October 25. Election Day is November 4.
