Southampton Town Police made arrests in two separate assaults that occurred in less than 24 hours last week.
On January 14, at approximately 1:40 p.m., officers were called to a mobile home park on Riverleigh Avenue in Riverside, where a man reported he’d been a victim of violence and he knew the perpetrator. A short while later, the suspected attacker — Frank Fisher, 42, of Westhampton — turned himself in. He was cuffed for third degree assault, a misdemeanor.
Less than 24 hours earlier, just before 7 p.m. on January 13, Town Police were called when a passenger on the Hampton Jitney refused to get off the bus. Responding officers say they saw Timothy McDonagh, 54, of North Sea trying to punch the bus driver. Successfully handcuffed, McDonagh kicked arresting officers, flailed on the ground, and, according to the press report, “Several officers were required to place Mr. McDonagh into the back of the police car for transport to Southampton Hospital.” He was charged with felony level assault in the second degree and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
