Every early morning, when I head to work from Hampton Bays to Riverhead, there is very little traffic. On the other hand, the endless line of the trade parade is heading east at a snail’s pace.
What I observe with the trade parade is that way over 50 percent (conservatively) of the vehicles have only one person in them.
I propose, with a few exceptions, that each vehicle must have at least two occupants.
Exceptions: 1. handicapped drivers; 2. local residents, from Westhampton to all residents east.
Time frames: 5 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.
