Valentina “Olga” Andosca, a resident of Southampton for 40 years and Cutchogue for seven years, died on November 25. She was 86.
Born on October 15, 1923, in Brooklyn to Katryzyna Wrzonek and Joseph Kopec, she was raised and graduated from high school in Brooklyn.
She married Joseph Andosca on November 22, 1947, in Brooklyn. She worked for the Electrical Workers Union Local 3 at Bayberry Land in Southampton, where she was the head cook for 15 years.
Survivors said this week that she was also a member of the Southampton Homemakers Club and the Southampton Town Retirees.
“Being with her family was her greatest joy,” survivors said, recalling her fondness for cooking for her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Catherine Scotti of Staten Island, Concetta Gray of Southampton and Alicia Hamilton of Cutchogue; a son, John Andosca of Ossining, New York; a sister, Terry Baker of Georgia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors on November 26 at the Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Funeral services, officiated by Monsignor Edmund Trench, were held on November 27 at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton. Interment followed at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Poland Church, 35 Maple Street, Southampton, NY 11968 would be appreciated by the family.
