The Express News Group hosted the latest in its Express Sessions panel discussion series, “Change is Coming to Hampton Bays,” on April 27 at Oakland’s Restaurant on Dune Road.
The discussion was meant to explore how Southampton Town’s most populated hamlet will grow and change over the next 10 years, in light of growing concerns abut affordable housing plus a proposal to expand the business district to the north, toward Good Ground Park.
Panelists included Hampton Bays Historical Society President Brenda Sinclair Berntson, downtown property owner Alfred Caiola, Southampton Housing Authority Executive Director Curtis Highsmith, Southampton Town Councilman Rick Martel, Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman and Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce President Christine Taylor. The discussion was moderated by Executive Editor Joseph P. Shaw.
Full coverage of the event will appear in the May 4 edition of The Southampton Press.
