Vincent D. Calenda of Quogue died at home on January 2, 2017. He was 76.
Mr. Calenda was born in New York City to Vincent and Dorothy Calenda, who predeceased him. Although orphaned at the age of four, his early life was spent in New York City with family.
He earned an undergraduate degree and, later, a masters in business administration, at Columbia University. He served as a U.S. Marine from 1960 to 1963, and was discharged with honors.
He worked in marketing in Manhattan and retired to Quogue in the early 1990s. He enjoyed fine dining, had a zest for life, an eye for sports cars—polishing his Shelby Cobra regularly—and cherished his stunning rose gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa.
A memorial service will be held on July 22, his 77th birthday and when his roses will be in full bloom, in Quogue.
