Virginia O. DeLauro Of Southampton Dies August 15

Virgina O. DeLauro of Southampton and Massapequa Park died on Thursday, August 15, at Hospice Inn in Huntington. She was 85.

Born October 5, 1927, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of John O’Brien and Josephine Butler, both of whom predeceased her. She attended Sacred Hearts School.

She is survived by three children, Joseph DeLauro, Christopher DeLauro and Ginny DeLauro; and three siblings, Josephine Cassidy, Florence Kissane and Maryalice O’Brien. Two siblings, Rosemary Marcincuk and John F. O’Brien, predeceased her.

The family received friends at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton on August 19. A funeral Mass was said at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampton on August 19.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
