Vivian Mangel
Vivian Mangel of Hampton Bays died on October 10 at Southampton Hospital. She was 82 and a retired owner/proprietor of Marine Hampton Ocean Resort in East Quogue and a resident of East Quogue for more than 50 years.
Ms. Mangel was active in the community. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Court of St. Rosalie, volunteered at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays for both the coat drive and in the food pantry. She volunteered for The Garden of Hope at Southampton Hospital. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Southampton Town Senior Center.
Survivors said they will remember her devotion to her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Mangel III, to whom she was married for 36 years.
She is survived by her sister, Blanche Randles; a two daughters, Karen S. Mincey and Pamela A. Martel and her husband Ronald; three sons, Robert F. Mangel IV and his wife Donna, Brian K. Mangel and his wife Toni, and Thomas C. Mangel and his wife Deborah; grandchildren Steven, Shawna, Suzanne, James and Shellie,Tabitha, Heather, Destiny, Robert F. V., Kimberley, Jacklyn, Bill, Tasha and Zack; and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Lily and Alyssa. She is predeceased by two children, Debra D. Mangel and William J. Mangel.
Visiting hours were held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Sunday, October 14, with a prayer service in the afternoon, and services by The Catholic Daughters and The Hand Aldrich American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in the evening. A funeral Mass was held at the Church of St. Rosalies on Monday, October 15. Burial followed in Calverton National Cemetery next to her husband.
