Walter 'Rocky' Kronimus III Of East Quogue Dies April 19

Walter “Rocky” Kronimus III of East Quogue died on April 19. He was 71.

Mr. Kronimus was born May 17, 1944, in Garden City to Elizabeth Becker and Walter Kronimus Jr. He married Lucia Leone on April 9, 1967. They lived in Levittown until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in Fort Knox, Kentucky and was later stationed in Vietnam. Upon his return from Vietnam, he, along with his father and father-in-law, built the house in which he raised his family and lived for 45 years.

Mr. Kronimus was a construction electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #25 for 40 years. He was an ardent amateur radio operator and enjoyed helping out at parades and bike races with others in his ham radio club. He enjoyed sailing and camping and was a longtime enthusiastic fan, and shareholder, of the Green Bay Packers.

Mr. Kronimus is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucia; and their three children, Carolyn Terry and husband Tom, Cindy Massey, and Steven Kronimus and wife Laurel; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle and Rachael Terry, Katie and Jackie Massey, and Julia and Delila Kronimus.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
