Walter Tuthill Jayne
Walter Tuthill Jayne of Virginia, formerly of Remsenburg, died on October 14. He was 76.
Mr. Jayne was born and raised in Remsenburg and was a 1954 graduate of Eastport High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees for four years, where he learned his craft of carpentry.
He was married to Veronica Kruk Jayne for 49 years. She also died on October 14.
Mr. Jayne is survived by a brother, Reverend Algernon B. Jayne and his wife Joan of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Eileen Jayne DiRuocco of New Hampshire, Sybil Jayne Bath and her husband Dale of Lake Placid, and Susanne Jayne Ketner of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his |parents, Algernon and Ruth Jayne, and a brother, David W. Jayne.
Mr. Jayne’s, and his wife’s ashes were scattered at their home in Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department, 190 East Main Street, Stanley, VA 22851 would be appreciated by the family.
