The recent election has brought into focus what voters are currently thinking.

The effort to bring illegal immigration under control, while overwhelmingly popular for candidate Donald Trump, was now portrayed as an authoritarian nightmare perpetrated by Nazis masquerading as federal employees. The dilemma for the current administration is how to manage the huge immigration mess that Democrats created. It obviously cannot be cleaned up using a progressive toothbrush but rather a government broom.

To be clear, there are no innocent illegals, only less offensive cases. The priority should be the deportation of those who have broken the law or who have criminal records prior to entering the U.S.

Democrats continue to ignore their responsibility for the invasion. For almost four years, it was part of their delusion. Forgotten that, in blue sanctuary cities, ICE agents were refused access to illegals who had been arrested for criminal activity, as Democrat politicians stopped cooperation with police in assisting ICE with criminal detention.

So, in the warped current view of Democrats, the uncomfortable process of weeding out the bad actors they permitted to feel safe here is solely because Republicans are racist authoritarians who send out their jack-booted thugs to do the sad but necessary work of fixing the problem. They actually believe they have the standing to criticize.

This paper reported on deluded progressives standing on their corners, waving their signs, reminding us how virtuous they and their cause are, while ignoring their complicity when it all could and should have been averted.

I take no pleasure in images of people being collected for deportation. These pawns are human beings with complicated reasons for coming here and surviving. It infuriates me hearing the condemnation from the left without a shred of humility for any of it. Now, demonstrators in our cities continue to add insult to injury as they physically attack those doing the thankless job of cleaning up their mess. Lately, gunfire and automobile confrontation has made lawful conduct extremely dangerous. Yet Democrats won’t condemn any of it; instead, their misguided politicians insert themselves, adding farce to it.

Democrat leadership makes restoring respect for American citizenship an act of fascism. They don’t value citizenship. They see it as an arbitrary distinction.

Now, we have young Democrats, products of our broken education system, entertaining revolutionary new (or old) thinking. Coming to a theater near you, they call themselves Democratic Socialists of America. Their goal is to redistribute your assets and take power away from the individual and give it to government. Sad to say, New York City is a place now teeming with them.

A prediction: In their Trump derangement, Democrats will embrace whatever will deliver them power.
