SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Village Police arrested Stacy T. Lowenthal, 53, of Sag Harbor early Sunday morning on misdemeanor DWI charges. Police said Lowenthal was driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler on Hampton Street and repeatedly swerving across lane lines, leading to a traffic stop. The arresting officer reported that Lowenthal appeared intoxicated and failed roadside sobriety tests, leading to her arrest. For the League of Women Voters, controversy is anathema. It’s an avowedly nonpartisan organization that takes great pains not to take sides in the political world, even as it helps provide lots of information to voters, and to encourage “everyone to fully participate in our democracy,” as its website outlines its mission.
