Wayne Charles Meyerson Of Hampton Bays Dies July 26

Wayne Charles Meyerson, originally from Hampton Bays, died July 26 in Sebastian, Florida. He was 70.

Survivors said he was an adventurer who traveled across continents, a chess professional who successfully coached young champions, a Suffolk County probation officer, and as a young man, a well-liked marina manager. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southampton College.

Mr. Meyerson is survived by his wife Linda (Stark); a stepson, Jimmy and wife Nicole; a grandson, Jacob; his mother, Midge; a sister, Marilyn; and a brother, Bob. He leaves behind his golden retriever, Davy Jones II. He was predeceased by his father, Manny.

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
